PTA Mission Statement

These three words best describe Good Counsel's Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Parents and teachers join as Good Counsel's PTA to foster a mutual understanding and appreciation of the ideals of Catholic Education. This is an opportunity where parents can actively participate in not only advancing their children's education but also in enhancing their children's social, religious, intellectual and physical development.

From prayer services, raffles, walkathons, to fashion shows, Good Counsel's PTA offers "something for everyone" and always builds in family participation and fun! A major goal of the PTA is to provide financial support to Good Counsel School.
The strength of the PTA's creative programs eliminates the need for children to sell door to door. Instead, families are asked to make a nominal annual contribution in which vouchers are given back and can be used on a variety of events. In past years, the PTA raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for many school improvements, new books and other items our children benefit from.

Good Counsel's PTA accomplishments extend beyond financial support. For years, the PTA has:

• Donated furniture, clothing, money and supplies to Jamaican missions
• Adopted families, supplied Easter Baskets and donated food to the Burlington County Social Services and Catholic Charities
• Assisted school and parish families in times of need
• Sponsored writing contests and awarded Good Counsel Students for academic excellence.
• Awarded scholarships to graduating eighth graders who are continuing their education at a Catholic institution.
• Communicated PTA updates through monthly newsletter, The Counsel Courier distributed to parish school children
There's always "something to do for everyone" because there are so many opportunities to get involved and make a positive contribution. Parent involvement makes a key difference and shows children the value in working together toward common goals. Getting involved is easy!
