Overview
The Religious Education Ministry of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish
is dedicated to the mission of nurturing and awakening faith by
providing a strong, vibrant curriculum of instruction, liturgical
experiences and active discipleship for students in Grades Kindergarten through
high school.
Preparing students for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist,
and Confirmation.
Offering through the Rite of Christian Initiation, a process whereby
children are welcomed into the Church, the family of God.
Developing adult faith formation of the parish by networking with
the Pastoral Life Ministry and certifying catechist through diocesan
certification programs and on-going, year-long education opportunities.
Responding to the cry of the poor throughout the world through
outreach programs that involve children in a tangible way. The Religious
Education outreach includes collection of money for the Holy Childhood
Association; toys, food, clothes, and Easter baskets for Emergency
Services, Catholic Charities, and other social agencies; and co-existence
with The Missionaries of the Poor, Kingston, Jamaica, and Franciscan
Sisters of Allegany, Jamaica.
