At Good Counsel, we recruit parishioners and teach them to proclaim the Scripture readings and make announcements at Mass. Anyone in Eucharistic Communion with the Church may volunteer for this ministry. We usually wait until one has received Confirmation before admitting them as Readers; in the year a person is a candidate for confirmation, they may be admitted as readers.
