Four New Members Join OLGC’s School Board, April 2011

By Michelle Molz

The school board of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish School meets monthly to review academic objectives and strategies, discuss financial and facility concerns, craft marketing objectives and maintain the school’s strong Catholic mission.

The board consists of nine voting members who serve three-year terms and have a wide range of professional experience in the fields of academics, finance, law, business and administration.

Each are parishioners invited to serve at the request of our pastor, Father Damian McElroy.

Father Damian oversees the school board, which was created in 2008 and is chaired by John Sherry, a retired assistant commissioner of education for the state of New Jersey. Father Jim O’Neill serves as an ex-officio member.

Four new members have joined the board in the past few months. They are Heather Crisci, Jeffrey Nick, Lisa Shallow and Bill Thomas. They join existing members Jill Kramarski, Marc Lario, Bernardine Maloney, Dan Roccato and John Sherry.

Principal Jerome T. McGowan represents the school’s administration and Bernardine Maloney serves as board secretary. Eighth grade teacher Rosemary Conners is the faculty liaison and Michelle Molz serves as PTA liaison.

If you have any ideas to share regarding our parish school, please contact one of the following people, or speak to our priests or our principal.

She recently served on the Trenton Diocese’s strategic planning committee for schools. She and her husband, Rich, live in Hainesport with their two children.
