Aftercare

The Aftercare program for Kindergarten – 8th grade usually follows the below schedule:

• 3:00 – 4:00     Snack and outdoor play.  ***Snack – you have the choice of providing your child with a snack and drink or your child can purchase a soft pretzel and a drink from the Aftercare program. 
• 4:00 – 4:45      Homework time.  The children are given the chance to do their homework assignments during this time period.  When possible, guidance will be given.  This does not necessarily mean that all work was completed and checked for accuracy.   It must be noted that it is the parents’ responsibility to check accuracy, and to see that all assignments have been completed.
• 4:45 – 6:00      During this time period there will be games, recreation, reading, creative expression, etc.  *** All Children are required to clean up and neatly put away their activity before leaving the building.

Parents are required to sign their child out before leaving the Aftercare program.

The regular hours for the program are as follows:

• Full school days – 3:00 to 6:00 pm.
• 1/2 school days – 12:00 to 6:00 pm

***When school dismissal is at 12:00 you must provide your child with a cold lunch to eat during their stay in the Aftercare program.

On school holidays and snow emergencies the Aftercare program will not be in effect.  If school is closing early due to bad weather, the Aftercare program will also close for the safety of the children and staff.  You will be notified by phone what time you will need to pick your child up from the program.

Note – There will be no Aftercare program on the day before Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter vacations and the Thursday evening of the PTA Fashion Show.

Fee Explanation and Payment Information

Students may participate in the program on a scheduled or occasional basis.  Scheduled participants are those students who use the Aftercare program regularly throughout the school year.  Occasional participants are those students who attend the program three times or less during a calendar month.

There is a $10.00 registration fee per child.  This fee will be included in your first billing.  Please do not send the fee in before you receive the bill.

The cost per child is as follows:

Scheduled Participants

$15:00 per child per day – 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
$20.00 per child per day – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Occasional Participants

$20.00 per child per day – 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
$25.00 per child per day – 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Late Pickup Fee

*** Please make sure you pick up your child by 6:00 pm.  Late pick-ups will result in an additional charge of $75.00.  No exceptions.

Aftercare program payments are due when you receive a bill in the mail.  The $10.00 registration fee will be included.  Do not send payments in to the office until you are billed.  Invoices are sent to your home address monthly starting in October.  Cut and return the bottom portion of your invoice only, along with your payment.  A return envelope is usually provided.  You may send your payment to us by regular mail or you can drop your payment off at the Pre-school building. 

* Late Payments – An invoice will be considered late if payment is not received by the last school day of the month.  Any payments received after that date will be considered late.  A charge of $10.00 will be added to your next Aftercare bill.  Your child will not be able to attend the Aftercare program until payment is made.
