What’s Happening in our 1B Classroom
All Art Boxes should be checked every week. Every child should have crayons, pencils, colored pencils, glue sticks, scissors, and an eraser every day for use in the classroom. I appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you!!!!
Please be sure to send your child to school with a healthy snack each day.
Lesson 30-R-Book Words-Camera Page is coming home this week for review.
Parents: We have 2 students in our classroom with peanut allergies. Please be careful when sending in snacks for the class. We appreciate your cooperation.
The children received “Writing Folders. ” These folders will stay in school and will promote independent writing and responsibiltiy. The children will have an opportunity to write creatively when they finish their assigned seat work.
PLEASE NOTE
Spelling Tests: On the remainder of the Spelling test for the year I will be adding sentences. On the back of each Spelling test, I will dictate 2 sentences using past Spelling words. The children are expected to listen carefully and write the sentences correctly. The punctuation and spelling should be correct. The sentences will not be part of their Spelling test grade. We will make corrections and anyone who gets everything correct will get a sticker. I would like the children to correct their mistakes to help them remember. Thank you!!
Spelling-I am trying to get the children to “proofread” their work. If a Spelling test has the paper upside down, a backwards letter, misspelled name, or an upper case letter and it should be lower-case, we will take 1 point off for each. Thank you!
Reading Tests- The children will now be taking the Weekly Reading Tests on their own. If your child’s test is stamped ” completed with help” that means I helped them with most of the test. If you do not see any stamp on the test, they completed it on their own!
