Week of May 14-18

This week in ILA, we are continuing to work on lesson 27.

Reading- We will be rereading the biography entitled Klondike Kate about an important woman who lived during the Gold Rush. We are going to do an activity called “In Her Shoes” where we will write journal entries and design a memory box from Kate Ryan’s perspective. The vocabulary was defined with the power point slide show last Tuesday. We will review summarizing and paraphrasing. The reading test will be THIS FRIDAY, MAY 18.

Grammar- We will learn about contractions using pronouns and not in lesson 27 The reading/grammar test will be THIS FRIDAY, MAY 18.

Spelling- All of lesson 27′s words have Greek word parts. The students will make a word search for a partner to review these words. The test will be THIS FRIDAY, MAY 18.

Homework 

Monday: no school (field trip)

Tuesday: none

Wednesday: Practice pg 163 (grammar)

Thursday:  Study for spelling and reading
