Children’s Programs
Children’s Programs explores different entertaining and educational venues to be performed at the school. Usually in a form of an assembly, these events are identified and organized by the Children’s Programs Coordinator for the children in all grades, K-8. All suggestions are approved by the PTA president and the school principal prior to commitment. The Children’s Programs Coordinator can also explore various grant funding for these programs. Family Programs
The Family Programs chairs are responsible for three events. The Back-To-School Social which is an evening of games, activities, crafts, and food for school families to get back together at the beginning of the school year. Caring and Sharing is a program which involves the school families and children to give back to the community through volunteering of their time and donations. Grant Development
The Grant Development committee is devoted to researching grant opportunities and writing grant proposals to obtain funding for the benefit of teachers and students. Committee members help identify school needs and solutions then find potential funding sources, such as corporate grants, private foundations, local businesses or individual donors. This committee also involves researching classroom needs and projects that can be funded through grants. Because of this, the Grant Development committee members have the opportunity very few PTA members get…an inside look at the curriculum and teaching methods, tools and needs of our children’s classroom.
Hospitality Committee
The Hospitality Committee organizes and obtains the necessary provisions for various functions throughout the school year. The basic responsibility of the committee is to “set up” and “clean up” at the various PTA and social functions. The committee is responsible for preparing the meeting site and providing refreshments for the monthly Board Meetings and the PTA Meetings. The committee also organizes the New Parents’ Social; held in September, and the Teachers’ Luncheon; held in February. They also recruit and communicate with the volunteers enlisted on the Baking Committee, who is called upon to bake for the numerous social functions throughout the year.
