Redemption
The Redemption team is responsible for collecting and implementing Box Tops for Education, Target card holders, Campbell Soup UPC bars, and printer cartridges. Throughout the year these items are collected and then redeemed for cash or purchase points that are in turn used for various school items. See 2011 redemption flyer for more information. Room Mothers
The Chairwomen, splitting the responsibility between (K-4) and (5-8), help with the selection of 2 -3 room mothers per classroom. At the beginning of the school year they host an instructional meeting for all room mothers describing their duties. These duties include: calling all school families and verifying phone numbers and contact information, assisting the school in any phone chain calls that may arise during the school year, including both emergency and weather related closings, helping to organize volunteers for school field days, the fun walk, the presidential fitness tests and other school activities, assisting the classroom teacher in scheduling conferences, collecting monies for the classroom parties and the teacher gifts and helping the teacher with supplies for the classroom parties. SCRIP/Gift Certificates
Our Lady of Good Counsel participates in the fundraising program called “scrip”. OLGC purchases prepaid cards at a discount, which can be purchased for everyday expenses like food, clothing, entertainment, dining out, birthday gifts, holiday gifts, and other essentials. All SCRIP 2011 items are listed. Revenue for the school is earned with every purchase. To order gift cards, download our SCRIP order form, fill it out and send it along with a check made out to OLGC PTA or cash to either Mary Benson c/o Rachel 6A or Joanne Dickson c/o Luke 2A. Social Concerns
The Social Concerns Chairperson is responsible for send birthday cards, thank you cards and holiday gifts to all OLGC faculty including parish workers. Mass cards, healing cards, flowers, and/or fruit baskets are also sent to staff members and their immediate families if the occasion should be needed. This position gives the OLGC PTA the opportunity to let our wonderful teachers and staff members know how much we appreciate all they do. Please contact Chairperson Lynne Gallo with any questions.
Spirit Shop
For the 2011 – 2012 school year, OLGC School Spiritwear will be available by order form only. There are some leftover pieces that will be on sale at various events such as the gym uniform sale, the new parents social, back to school night and at the various PTA meetings. A full color order form can be found online at Spiritwear Fall 2011 Order Form – just print it out, fill it in and return through the backpack to Jeanne Forrest attn: Lindsey.
