Senior Ministry

The Senior Ministry of Our Lady of Good Counsel seeks to provide an acceptance and appreciation of the seniors within the spirit of this Christian community through the development of ongoing programs and planned activities.

On the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from September to May there is a coffee hour where the seniors gather together to have time to socialize and discuss common interests.  The Parish Nurses are on hand to do blood pressure screening and to discuss any medical concerns that may arise.

On the fourth Tuesday of each moth there is a presentation on health topics and other topics that would interest our senior parishioners. These topics are requested from the group.

Meetings follow the 9 am mass in Heritage House and all are welcomed. For more information please contact Jane McCorkell 856-235-2374

The Nine O'Clockers

Everyone is back from their summer holidays and ready to gather together to share quality time. The first  get- together will be Sept. 9th.

Our group meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month for coffee and great conversations in Heritage House following the 9 am mass.  Parish nurses are available on the second Tuesdays for blood pressure screening and the fourth Tuesdays are for presentations that are of interest to seniors.

On September 25th Dr. Linda Dix will give a presentation on Why Do We Come to Mass? Part of the problem with children today not coming to Mass is the antiquated way we use to explain it--sin and damnation---now it is all about being part of the one body and being missed if we are not there.

October 28th we will have a special morning with Sr. Mary Simon Robb, RSM on Senior Spirituality.

Save the date December 18th  for our Christmas luncheon party at the Moorestown Field House . Last year we had our biggest group of over 55 people in spite of the rainy day. More information will follow in the bulletin.
