Grade 8 Confirmands, both Religious Education and Good Counsel School students, and their sponsors, attend a practice at St. Isaac Jogues, Marlton, on Sunday, February 24th. Students are sponsors are asked to be in their designated classrooms / assigned seats by 3:30pm. Confirmand procession begins at 3:45pm. The practice will run from 4:00pm to 4:30pm. Letters with details and assigned classrooms and seating is forthcoming.
Registration for families currently enrolled and returning for the new year begins on Sunday, April 7, 12:00noon to 1:00pm in the Heritage House for the Summer Intensive Program. Registration forms will be available at that time. Summer Intensive Program dates are July 15 through July 26. Registration will continue Monday through Friday, April 8th to 12. Registration for families new to the Religious Education Program begins on Monday, June 3. Please contact the RE Office with any concerns or questions.
Parents are to drive slowly and cautiously in an effort to be careful of children and adults entering and exiting the school building. Please park in designated spaces only. With increased enrollment, we recommend parents park in the Rite Aid parking lot or along Prospect Avenue. Crossing guards are provided during the 4pm session to assist in crossing Main Street and Prospect Avenue.
Confirmands and High School students are invited to serve in various parish ministries. Upcoming events include assisting in Religious Education classes, Noah’s Ark Ministry, and Gathering Sundays. Parents are asked to contact the RE Office to register their child as a volunteer.
Grade 8 Religious Education students attend a class time practice at OLGC Church, Tuesday evening, February 12, 7:00pm to 7:30pm. Students report directly to Church at 7:00pm, and sit with their class for the practice. Parent pick-up is at 7:30pm from the Church.
Religious Education classes for Tuesday February 12 are cancelled due to concern with icy weather conditions. This includes 4:00pm RE classes, 7:00pm Initiation session, and 7:00pm Confirmation practice in Church. There are no classes next week as we celebrate the Presidents’ Day holiday. Grade 8 meets on Thursday, February 21 for Reconciliation. All other grades meet on Monday and Tuesday February 25 and 26.
Due to weather conditions today, Monday, February 11, both 4:00pm and 7:00pm sessions are cancelled. All OLGC after school activities are also cancelled. A determination will be made tomorrow regarding Tuesday, February 12 4:00pm classes, 7:00pm Initiation classes, and 7:00pm Confirmation practice. Please check for emails and Honeywell Instant Alerts. Prayer Service held in the Church, 4:15pm to 4:45pm, with Fr. Jack presiding. Students report to / are dismissed from the school building. Children are asked to bring canned food donations to class throughout the month of November for local feed families in need. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
On Sunday, October 14, grade 7 and 8 confirmands from the Religious Education Program, OLGC School, along with members of the Parish Youth Group, traveled to the “Year of Youth Fest” in Mahahawkin. Teen volunteers, grade 7 and high school, are invited to assist at the various family breakfasts: Saturday, September 15 (for grade 2 families), Saturday, September 22, (for grade 7 families), and Saturday, September 29 (for grade 8 families). Please contact the RE Office to volunteer.
Annual Catechists' Planning Meetings are held on Tuesday, September 4, 7pm (catechists grades 1-6) and Wednesday, September 5, 7pm (catechists grades 7-8) and Thursday, September 6 (catechists for Children's Initiation). Dr. Dix leads with theological presentation and updates to policies and procedures.
John Collins, Catechist Trainer and Consultant, Sadlier Religion Publications, returns to OLGC to present: "Engaging Parents in Faith Formation: It’s About “Building Parental Capacity” The day begins with 9:00am Mass in the Chapel, includes brunch in the cafeteria, followed by John's presentation.
