Confirmands and High School students are invited to serve in various parish ministries. Help is needed in setting up the Summer Intensive Program and classroom materials. Parents are asked to contact the RE Office to register their child as a volunteer. Looking ahead: Fall opportunities include assisting at Family Masses / Breakfasts, Noah’s Ark Ministry, Gathering Sunday, and in Religious Education classes.
Parents are to drive slowly and cautiously in an effort to be careful of children and adults entering and exiting the school building. Please park in designated spaces only. With increased enrollment, we recommend parents park in the Rite Aid parking lot or along Prospect Avenue. Crossing guards are provided during the Summer Intensive Program and 4pms session to assist in crossing Main Street and Prospect Avenue.
There will be no Religious Education classes during Holy Week and Easter Week. Classes resume on Monday and Tuesday, May 29 and 30. Families are invited to attend Family Reconciliation on Tuesday, April 16, 7pm in the Main Church, Holy Thursday Mass, 7pm, Good Friday Service, 3pm, Living Stations, 7pm, and the Vigil, 7pm.
Details regarding registration for families with children enrolled for the 2018-2019 year and, returning for the new year, and families new to the RE Program or not currently attending RE class, are found on the Registration and Resources page. Please note, Summer Intensive Program is fully registered.
Registration is held Sunday, April 7, 12:00 noon to 1:00pm in Heritage House for families with children currently attending RE classes and returning for the new year. Thank you in advance for respecting the arrival time of after 11:30am, and the parishioners involved in the various ministries on campus Sunday morning - especially in Heritage House and Mass in Church. Religious Education Staff will be available at 12:00 noon for registration.
Students attend Stations of the Cross prayer service during class time. Stations are led by Deacon Dave. Children report to and are dismissed from the school building. Parents, students from the Summer Intensive, and Home Study Program are all invited to attend.
It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Sacred Music Director, Mr. Stephen Lucasi. Steve passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Barbara, and his entire family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:45am followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm all at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Interment will be private.
Father Damian is planning a Memorial for Steve. Dates and details to be announced. All are invited to attend.
A Donation has been made by the Religious Education Ministry staff to Food for the Poor, as requested by the Steve’s family. Dr. Dix will bring this donation in person upon her mission trip to Kingston Jamaica.

Grade 8 Confirmands, both Religious Education and Good Counsel School students, and their sponsors, attend a practice at St. Isaac Jogues, Marlton, on Sunday, February 24th. Students are sponsors are asked to be in their designated classrooms / assigned seats by 3:30pm. Confirmand procession begins at 3:45pm. The practice will run from 4:00pm to 4:30pm. Letters with details and assigned classrooms and seating is forthcoming.
Grade 8 Religious Education students attend a class time practice at OLGC Church, Tuesday evening, February 12, 7:00pm to 7:30pm. Students report directly to Church at 7:00pm, and sit with their class for the practice. Parent pick-up is at 7:30pm from the Church.
Religious Education classes for Tuesday February 12 are cancelled due to concern with icy weather conditions. This includes 4:00pm RE classes, 7:00pm Initiation session, and 7:00pm Confirmation practice in Church. There are no classes next week as we celebrate the Presidents’ Day holiday. Grade 8 meets on Thursday, February 21 for Reconciliation. All other grades meet on Monday and Tuesday February 25 and 26.
Due to weather conditions today, Monday, February 11, both 4:00pm and 7:00pm sessions are cancelled. All OLGC after school activities are also cancelled. A determination will be made tomorrow regarding Tuesday, February 12 4:00pm classes, 7:00pm Initiation classes, and 7:00pm Confirmation practice. Please check for emails and Honeywell Instant Alerts. Prayer Service held in the Church, 4:15pm to 4:45pm, with Fr. Jack presiding. Students report to / are dismissed from the school building. Children are asked to bring canned food donations to class throughout the month of November for local feed families in need. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity!
On Sunday, October 14, grade 7 and 8 confirmands from the Religious Education Program, OLGC School, along with members of the Parish Youth Group, traveled to the “Year of Youth Fest” in Mahahawkin.
