Requirements for volunteers of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish:
- Be a practicing Catholic, attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days, and hold to the basic doctrine of the Catholic faith
- If married, married within the Church
- Complete Background Check Requirements
- Participate in Virtus Training Session (Child protection / safe environment)
- Be available to commit to schedule, plan and lead classroom lessons
Background Check Requirements
As part of the Diocesan Safe Environment Program, staff and volunteers are required to be fingerprinted and attend Virtus (child protection) training. Adult volunteers wear a Parish and Diocesan ID Badges when they are ministering to children in a parish activity. Any adult interested in volunteering in the Religious Education Ministry, we invite you to complete and submit these forms to the RE Office.
